The agreement between you and save.ag

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of save.ag, a regenerative agriculture knowledge platform operated by save.ag, a California Public Benefit Corporation, founded and chaired by Ian Murdock.

By using save.ag — whether by browsing, asking questions, creating an account, or subscribing to a paid tier — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.

These terms apply to all users: free-tier visitors, registered account holders, and paid subscribers.

Description of Service

save.ag provides access to a curated corpus of regenerative agriculture knowledge through two tiers:

  • Free tier: Full access to the knowledge base, topic library, and Ask feature. No account required. The free tier is the platform's core commitment — knowledge access is not gated behind payment.
  • Individual subscription ($10/month or $100/year): Adds a persistent profile, personalized search and recommendations, and continuity features that carry context between sessions. The paid tier is about continuity and curation, not access to knowledge.

save.ag is a platform for information and guidance. It is not a substitute for professional agricultural, financial, legal, or environmental advice. See the AI-Generated Content section for the epistemic commitments that govern how this content is presented.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription. By using save.ag with an account, you represent that you are at least 18.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Acceptable Use

save.ag's content and infrastructure are provided for personal, educational, and professional use by farmers and ranchers, researchers, advisors, and others engaged with regenerative agriculture. The following uses are prohibited:

  • Scraping at scale: Automated extraction of content in bulk, whether by bot, script, or tool, beyond what a browser naturally requests in the course of individual use.
  • Resale of access: Selling, sublicensing, or providing access to your account or subscription to third parties.
  • Bulk corpus extraction: Systematic downloading or aggregation of the site's content corpus for training datasets, competing products, or redistribution.
  • Violation of third-party data licenses: Using save.ag in any way that would violate the license terms of the underlying data sources and research on which the platform draws.
  • Harmful or unlawful conduct: Using the platform to harass, deceive, or harm others, or in violation of applicable law.

save.ag reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions. Repeated or egregious violations may result in permanent exclusion.

Subscription Terms

The individual subscription is priced at $10/month or $100/year. Subscriptions are billed in advance at the start of each billing period.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will receive a reminder before renewal. You can cancel at any time through your account settings.

Payment: Subscription payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. Payment card data is handled directly by the processor — save.ag does not receive or store raw card numbers. The processor's terms and privacy policy govern payment data.

Taxes: Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. Where required by law, applicable taxes are added at checkout.

Pricing changes: save.ag may change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal. If a price change is unacceptable, you may cancel before renewal.

Cancellation, Refunds, and Data Disposition

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access through that date.

Refunds: Subscription fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a billing error has occurred, contact us at [email protected].

Your data on cancellation: Your profile is fully exportable and fully deletable. Before or at cancellation, you can request a full export of your profile data in a portable format. If you request deletion, all profile data associated with your account is permanently deleted. Your data is not retained as leverage after cancellation.

User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to save.ag, including profile information, questions asked through the Ask feature, and any feedback or submissions you provide.

By submitting content, you grant save.ag a limited license to use that content for the sole purpose of operating and improving the service for you. This license does not permit save.ag to sell, license, or share your content with third parties for their own purposes. The license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide. You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide to save.ag.

Platform IP and Content Licensing

save.ag's platform design, codebase, editorial organization, and curated content corpus are the intellectual property of save.ag, a California Public Benefit Corporation. All rights reserved.

Content on save.ag is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may read, reference, and share individual pages for educational, professional, and personal purposes. You may not reproduce the content corpus in bulk, repackage it for redistribution, or use it to build competing products without explicit written permission from save.ag.

Underlying research, data, and source materials linked from save.ag are the property of their respective authors and publishers. Their licenses govern use of those materials.

AI-Generated Content

save.ag uses AI to synthesize information from its indexed source corpus. The Ask feature routes your question through OpenRouter (opens in new window) to three providers: Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite analyzes your query; Google Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite synthesizes the response from retrieved sources; OpenAI text-embedding-3-small converts your question into a search vector. AI-synthesized responses on save.ag are one input among several. They draw from indexed research, practitioner knowledge, and curated sources — but they reflect what those sources say as of the time they were indexed, and they cannot account for your specific conditions, regulatory context, or local expertise. For decisions with significant agronomic, financial, or environmental stakes, site-specific professional consultation is appropriate alongside any guidance from this platform.

save.ag represents knowledge as it exists, including its limitations and context-dependencies. Where the evidence is contested, the platform says so. Where certainty is not warranted, it is not manufactured.

Disclaimers of Warranty

save.ag is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, save.ag makes no warranties, express or implied, including:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any content
  • Warranties that defects will be corrected

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, save.ag's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these terms or your use of the platform is limited to the fees you paid to save.ag in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

save.ag is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, data loss, or loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. Where those laws apply, these limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold save.ag harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your violation of these terms or your violation of applicable law. This indemnification obligation applies to your own conduct and does not extend beyond what you are directly responsible for.

Termination

save.ag may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in conduct that harms other users or the platform, or for other legitimate operational reasons. Where practicable, save.ag provides notice before termination.

If your account is terminated for cause, any outstanding subscription fees are forfeited. If your account is terminated without cause by save.ag, you receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of any prepaid period.

Upon termination, your right to use the platform ends. Sections covering intellectual property, liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

Changes to These Terms

save.ag may update these terms as the platform evolves. For material changes, save.ag provides at least 30 days' notice by posting the updated terms and noting the change date. Continuing to use the platform after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

The "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page reflects when these terms were last revised. If a change is unacceptable, you may cancel your account before the effective date.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Sonoma County, California for any dispute arising from these terms or your use of save.ag.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, you agree to contact save.ag at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution. Most concerns are resolved quickly through direct communication.
